To say it has been a great year for football here in Seattle would be an understatement. The University of Washington Huskies have been doing very well and most recently earned themselves an invitation to the Cactus Bowl in Tempe, Arizona against Oklahoma State University on January 2nd.
With the team on the cusp of their second straight 9-win season, three Huskies have also found national recognition. Seniors Danny Shelton (Defensive Tackle), Hau’oli Kikaha (Linebacker), and Junior Shaq Thompson (All-Purpose Player) have earned themselves First Team AP-All American accolades. Kikaha, who had lead the NCAA with 18 sacks this season, is the first unanimous All-American since 1995. Shelton and Thompson were also named First and Second Team All-American by the Sporting News, respectively.
The Huskies’ success this season has been especially exciting for InHealth team member Dr. Curt Rindal. Dr. Rindal, a former Husky Baseball Player, has had the privilege of working with the UW Football Team throughout the season. His exploits with the team have also been featured in recent articles for the Palmer December Highlights and the Dawg Digest, a publication sent to all University of Washington Alumni and season ticket holders.
Everyone here at InHealth is excited for the game. We’ll be watching, will you? For more info, visit GoHuskies.com Bowl Central.
